STATEMENT:
I am a painter, printmaker, quilt maker, sculptor and mixed media artist.
I draw upon my life experiences as the basis for the themes in my work i.e. wife, mother, feminist, sailor, fisherman, traveler, art activist and social observer.
I work in series.
I use found objects, both natural and man made.
I endeavor to balance decoration with expression.
I make use of collected memories of years lived by recapturing, reinventing and reorganizing these many experiences into my art.
My goal is to continue developing in all the mediums .The role of the artist in society is a noble one, and one in which I feel privileged to participate. Naturally I want to have recognition and hopefully contribute to the traditions in art. Most importantly, the process of making art is my lifetime commitment and is its own reward.
